It's been a little quiet here.....what is everyone up to?

How is everyone's summer? What is everyone doing? Any fun and exciting dance activities?

Yasmine, my teacher, Debbie and I are going to Ya Halla Ya All in Texas next month! Debbie and I are dancing a duet together. Look for Bashira Bellydance if you are attending.

I have been celebrating my 50th birthday (month long celebration in July)!

Our troupe, Beledi Beat will be performing at Pride Charlotte this weekend along with Yasmine's Student Recital on Sunday. And we are getting ready for the Carolina Renaissance Faire coming up in October!

Between dancing, and traveling all over the place on weekends with hubby, this summer has been very busy but fun! Hope everyone else is having a great summer! I must admit, I ready for cooler weather!

    I've been doing physical therapy all summer. I'm having shoulder issues and I'm hoping that I don't have to have surgery to correct what's going on. Been drawing, resting, doing this and that, going to two classes this summer and troupe practice on Sundays. Next week, we are going to Las Vegas. I'm not going to Ya Halla Y'all because that's the weekend I'm going to be in Dallas buying my new car. That's all that's up with me.

    Oh dear...I teach school, so I've spent my summer doing lesson plans...cleaning and painting and doing household things that I just don't get to during the year...we hosted our first hafla and most of it was on mine and my hubby's head...helping Mom and Dad with their yard and carting them an hour to the dr and back every few weeks....*sigh* So much for "a summer just for me."

    BE PREPARED...August in Texas is hotter than blue blazes...You will have a great time at Ya Halla Y'all...It can be a bit overwhelming though so pace yourselves! I can give you this advise because #1, I live in Texas, and #2, I used to be in Isis' troupe.

    I've been sewing like crazy to get clothing ready for Pennsic War (a large SCA event). I'm leaving this Saturday and am still...not...quite...done!

    My SCA dance troupe has been working on a cane and stick dance (we have 3 female members and one male) to perform at a dance expo at Pennsic. And I've been trying to get myself ready for all of the dance classes and haflas by doing extra yoga and dance practice!

    I'm also ready for some cooler weather, but mainly because I don't want to camp for 2 weeks in 90 degree weather! :-)

    I just finished up our Renn Faire her, itwas amazing. I took my Troupe Mayyadah which consisted of 19 dancers & 5 musicians. We put on 3 shows a day for 2 days & just rocked the Faire. I'll be putting up some pics & a youtube this weekend. From now until the end of summer I have something going every other weekend. Life is good!

      I haven't posted on here in a long time..

      things are .... ok.. not great. I am still dancing and fire performing (that one on occasion only). I have been doing aot of crafty thangs tho.. opened an Etsy store and I do have some things for us folks with larger arms (leather and vinyl arm bands) I also take custom orders as well..

        Well the roof got completely stripped and built back on.. the repaired places got painted. Crocheted some belts and stuff...Grab bar in the bath tub... coating stuff on deck.. all kinds of preop testing stuff... chemically induced stress test THE WORST!!!!!!... House is ready.. Office is ready... Knee replacement on Wednesday. That should take care of summer.

    I've been to Dallas several times, including the summer months. I try to stay in the AC as much as possible! I'm looking forward to the great workshops lined up and the shopping! I'm going to have to pay extra to bring things home!

    The past weekend was a blast! The Pride show went very well. What a very receptive audience! We are invited back for next year! Woohoo! And Yasmine's Belly Oasis show went fabulously! Hi have such a great dancer high afterwards that I can't get to sleep! Now it's practise for Ya Halla and learn new dances for the Faire.
