After burning the soles of my feet today on hot concrete during a performance, I've decided I need some sandals or ghillies or something. I would prefer some pretty sandals but I've plus sized tootsies in addition to the rest of me. :) Size 13 since they spread my recent pregnancy.. I haven't found anything over an 11 and most seem to end at a 10. Anyone else have this problem and found something?

Sun, June 8, 2008 - 8:11 AMI actually got some dance sandals from a company here in NC. I got two styles. One is a half sandal that covers the ball of my feet that I love cause they help me spin but the other is just a simple sandal that covers the whole bottom of my foot. I had the owners of the store special order the larger size for me. If there is a dance store (that sells stuff for ballet, tap and modern dance) they probably have the same selection of shoes and could special order the larger ones. If not, email me and I will get you a catalog from the store I go to.

Mon, June 9, 2008 - 11:06 AMTry Medieval Moccasins in Texas. Google their website as I honestly can't remember it off the top. They can custom-make ghillies for you off tracings of your foot. The fit and comfort is fabulous. I've got two pairs! -

Tue, June 10, 2008 - 7:50 AMOh, one more thing, just so you know how they last. . . I bought my first pair before my daughter was born at an SCA event in Arizona (Estrella War). She'll be sixteen in August. I still wear that first pair, though I think its time to get them resoled!
