Post baby belly

I have always been a large-framed woman....broad shoulders...proud of my curvy hips and how it all looks when I dance. After the birth of my daughter, I seem to have "loose skin" on my midsection. Can anyone suggest light exersize or costuming choices to minimize the appearance of the loose skin?

Thanks!

How long ago was your daughter born? If it was recently, part of what helps loose skin is simply time. I felt kind of the same way when my son was born, but that was over 6 years ago. I'm still a big gal, but you're right - my midsection felt "gooier" or looser when he was first born.

Anything to help tone your midsection would obviously be good. It doesn't help 100% since part of the problem since loose skin isn't the same as muscle tone, but it would help somewhat.

Also keep in mind that it's not unusual for some things to stay a little looser post-baby. Yes you can get your tone and figure back, but for a lot of women it's not 100% where they were pre-baby. Your body took a lot of strain and stretching.

Anyway, some draping (fringe or coin) or aprons on costuming can help. Personally I don't care who sees my midsection but I know others do. I made a banjara top that turn out incredible and it includes that traditional apron in the front. I'm wearing it in one of my pics in my album. I can't remember where in the album it is, but it is blue and red and I am also wearing dread falls and a black skirt. it might give you an idea.

I don't know how to link a picture, so if you to look in my album, look for a picture of me standing center with two other ladies flanking behind me, and the picture is called "TNT at the Belly Fusion Show."

My daughter just turned 2. Someone suggested that the area in question may be caused by a skin or fat layer separating from the muscle wall. I'm definitely going to check out the pic. It would be welcome b/c as I shimmy, my body goes one way, and my midsection another!
