Some of you may be familiar with a niche web site I launched in 2001 called Belly Dancing for Full-Figured Women on angelfire. I'm happy to report that I have dusted it off, moved it to a new home free of those hideous angelfire ads, given it a complete makeover, added some new articles, updated all the links on the links page, and more.

Its new name is Bellydance Plus! and you can find it here: www.bellydanceplus.com

One of the new things I added was a photo gallery featuring another member of this tribe: Melodi! Check it out!

I also added an inspirational article by Jodi Blubaugh titled "A Body Beautiful"

If you have a web site, I hope you'll consider linking to it. Right now, it's invisible on google.

I have more material in mind for it - plans to add three more dancers to the photo gallery, more articles, etc. So many ideas, so little time!

  • I love your site. I too could offer some photos for your site. Check my profile photos & PM me if you are interested. Keep up the great work.
    • Hi Ladies! Thanks so much for your interest in my web site! I'm really glad to see it being so warmly received by the dance community!

Here's where I stand on photos for my photo galleries...

Right now, I have a mailbox full of photos from one dancer that I need to process and post.

Another dancer has steered me to some photos she already has posted on the web that I need to take the time to look over, evaluate, and choose from.

I have approached two other dancers who have expressed interest. I expect they'll be getting back to me in the near future.

So, for the time being I'm not going to add any more photo gallery candidates to my plate until I finish my follow-through with the four that I'm already in contact with. Once I've had an opportunity to do that, my next step will be to assess what I've already got versus where I have gaps that I may want to fill. And once I've reached that point, then I'll post a message describing what I'm looking for. I expect I'll have some very specific requirements.

When the time comes, I'll be looking for high-quality photos (ie, well lit, vibrant colors, not blurry, not-ugly backgrounds). They won't have to have been taken by a professional photographer, but will need to look like they were taken by someone with good equipment and a good eye.
